Montego Bay is one of the best cruise ports in the Caribbean for legal cannabis access. Jamaica’s decriminalization and herb house system mean cruise passengers can obtain a medical authorization and purchase cannabis legally during their port day.
How to access
- Head to a licensed herb house — Kaya Herb House has locations accessible from the cruise terminal
- Get a medical authorization — takes about 10 minutes, costs ~US$10
- Purchase your products — flower, edibles, concentrates, topicals available
- Consume on the premises or at a private location — not in public
Important reminders
- You have 6-8 hours. Factor in taxi time and the authorization process.
- Do NOT bring anything back to the ship. Consume everything on shore.
- Public smoking is illegal even in Jamaica. Use the herb house lounge or a private setting.
- The 2oz (56g) possession limit applies, but buy only what you’ll consume on shore.
