Cannabis access at Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman has medical cannabis (oil and capsules by prescription only) but no recreational access. The 2025 decriminalization referendum passed with 55% support, but the Law Reform Commission is still drafting implementation — so current law applies.
What cruise passengers need to know
- No recreational cannabis access
- Medical cannabis oil is prescription-only for residents — not available to tourists
- The referendum result is promising but not yet implemented
- Do not bring cannabis from the ship. Importing is strictly prohibited.
- George Town’s cruise port area is heavily monitored
